Continuing Education Opportunity
Purpose: To provide long term assistance toward the post secondary education of two Willow Springs HS graduates per year, in the hope that they will return to this area and be productive, contributing members of society.
Award: Two $2,500 Scholarships will be awarded each year, one male and one female. The scholarship may be used at any accredited post secondary school, college or vocational school. Funds will be disbursed at the rate of $250 per semester/reporting period for the equivalent of 10 consecutive college semesters. In order to maintain funding the student will need to meet the renewal criteria each reporting period. Any balance created by early graduation at the post secondary level will be disbursed directly to the student after graduation verification is provided.
Selection Process: Only applicants who complete the local general scholarship application will be considered. Criteria to be considered will include, but not be limited to, financial need, citizenship, attendance, grade point, A+ qualification, high school teacher, and principal and counselor recommendation.
Renewal Criteria: In order for the student to
receive the next disbursement of funds, they must provide to United Country
Willow Springs Realty:
A) Report card showing a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for
the current grading period.
B) Enrollment and class schedule for consecutive grading periods.
C) Maintain consecutive semesters of attendance. Summer Semesters are optional.
