We Are Family – WSHS Team Dance Contest

Families encourage each other, celebrate each other’s success; we work as a team, and not as a group of individuals. Willow Springs High School has the potential of doing more amazing things if we are a family and work together. We would like to introduce a dance competition during our attendance celebration at the end of the first quarter. Here is some information about the contest.

Immunizations for Back-to-School

The Howell County Health Department will be in Willow Springs on Tuesday August 3rd from 9:30am to 2:00pm.  This is the last time they will be in Willow Springs giving free immunizations before school starts.  This is a change from the regular schedule.

  • Most Kindergarteners need booster immunizations before school starts
  • Many 9th or 10th graders are due for a tetanus booster
  • All students coming in to 8th gradethis year need to have a pertusis booster.   Pertussis is also called “whooping cough”.  This booster also has tetanus in it.  These students will not need a tetanus booster in high school.
  • Students must be up to date with immunizations in order to come to school.
  • If you have questions about your child’s immunizations, please call your health care provider or the school nurse.
  • Please remember to take your child’s shot record along.

You may contact the Howell County Health Department by calling (417) 256-7078.

Help finish Ferguson building by voting online!

The WS Community Foundation envisions that the Fergie will be a multi-purpose building serving the needs of a wide range of people.

There will be a computer center open to the public with wi-fi service, (computers and workstations have already been donated), a discovery center with interactive displays related to the geology, forestry, and agricultural aspects of the area, a welcome center for visitors, and displays from the Willow Springs Genealogical and Historical Society all on the first floor.

The second floor will be used by the W. S. Arts Council to display art works from area artisans, for meetings and events, and for education and training classes. In addition the office of the South Central Ozarks Manufacturing Alliance will be housed in the building. SCOMA was organized to provide services to local entrepreneurs to help them start a new company or improve the business practices of an established company in order to generate additional job opportunities for the local workforce.

Please vote for the project here.
