1.    2012-13 Schedules will be passed out 6th block TODAY.  There will be NO schedule changes today.  Schedule changes will be done the first week in August. . . .be sure to watch the newspaper for dates and times.

2.    Students are to stay in their 6th block class until 11:40 (when school is dismissed).  We will NOT be having Bear Time and we will NOT be serving lunch.  Get ready for a great summer!

2. The FINAL KWSB will be available for viewing TODAY!  The end-of-year edition includes the 2011-12 Year in Video and a special goodbye to the Class of 2012!

3. Mrs. Foster will be in Mr. Spence’s class TODAY at 10:00 a.m. to take a picture of the Willow Springs Scholarship Club Scholarship winners and to give them some vital information about the scholarship.  Ashley Hardisty, Ashley Collins, Micah Montgomery, and CJ Good should meet in Mr. Spence’s room at 10:00 for this meeting also.

6. Congratulations to the Lady Bears Track team District runner up trophy at Fair Grove. The girls have finished 2nd 3 of the last 4 years. Equally impressive was the boys 3rd place finish which was 5 places better than they had done the year before with 71 more points. 16 teams competed in the district.  GREAT JOB !!!!

7. NHS SENIORS!  Your NHS stoles are in.  Please come by and pay Mrs. Miller $20 and get your stole.

8. SENIORS:  You will need to bring some SOCKS for your outing with Mr. Dunlap on Friday.

1. TODAY is the deadline to register for the June ACT.  Any junior planning to attend college who has not taken the ACT should take this one.  Next year colleges will not be accepting ACT scores from the high schools, so when you register you need to list the colleges you want your scores sent to or you will have to pay ACT to send your scores every time you want it sent to a college.  Next year you will be required to upload a picture when you register for the ACT.

12. Driver Ed will be offered during summer school.  Classes will be held May 29-June 5 from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. then students will sign up for driving time after they have finished their classroom obligations.  You must be 15 before June 11, 2012.  The sign up sheet is in Connie’s office.

13. Last call for senior ads for the Senior Edition program that will be handed out at Graduation.  There are limited spots left!  Let you family know they need to get it in as soon as possible to have an ad!    You can get a business card for 10.00, 1/4 page for 20.00, or 1/2 page for 40.00.  Need more information contact Mrs. Yocom.

5. Michael Sevor has completed his senior project, “Fighting Crime with Bill.”  You can view the project Friday on KWSB.

6. WSHS art students won many awards at the SDATA Art Teachers conference show this last weekend.  Annina Fremgen won “Best of Show” and 2 first place ribbons in the advanced art division; D.J. Johnson, 1st place, Sarah Corniels 1st place, Miriam Piatnitsk 2nd place and Katerina Seu 3rd place in the Art 1 Division.  GREAT JOB!

7. This past Thursday and Friday was the 2012 State FFA Convention. Really proud of my guys and gals they did an amazing job representing Willow Springs High School and the Willow Springs FFA showing what it means to have “A Tradition of Excellence”

• State Winner in Equine Science Ownership Stephan Cook (Will compete at the 2012 National FFA Convention, 1 person represents Missouri)

• State Winner in Diversified Horticulture Alicen Rothermich (Will compete at the 2012 National FFA Convention, 1 person represents Missouri)

Class Rings – Jostens WILL accept personal checks for payment.  If your class ring is paid for and you are not
here on the day of delivery they will leave the ring with Connie.  If you are not here and the ring is not paid for
they will NOT leave the ring.  You will have to mail in your payment and they will mail the ring to you.

5.    SPANISH SOCIETY MEMBERS: Your money and notes are due Friday April 20th.

6.    Biz Boot Camp is intensive, fun-filled three-day training for high school students. The camp will teach students the basics of starting and running a business and feature a field trip to a local business. There will also be many fun activities designed to fuel innovation. Students will have opportunities to work together and use their creativity to develop and present their ideas.
Dates:          Tuesday, July 24 through Thursday, July 26
Time:           9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day (Social networking and snacks at 8:30 AM)
Location:    Ozarks Small Business Incubator, 408 Washington Ave, West Plains, Missouri
Cost:           $60, includes lunch and t-shirt

7.    The Missouri Innovation Academy is an on-campus summer program for high school sophomores and juniors.  Students live on the MSU-Springfield campus for the duration of the Academy.  Students will work with science and business faculty on science and math projects during their time at the Academy.  Some scholarships are available.  See Mrs. Petrus if you are interested.

8.    Missouri State – Springfield Spring 2012 Showcase will be held on Saturday, April 21.  This is an opportunity for juniors to learn about the MSU-Springfie0ld campus.  Register at www.missouristate.edu/showcase by April 18th.

9.    Missouri University of Science and Technology will offer several summer enrichment programs like Jackling Introduction to Engineering, CyberMiner, Aeorspace Camp, Girls Go Green, Girls Go Global, Robotics Camp, and EcoCAR Summer Camp.  See Mrs. Petrus for more info.

10.    Any girl that plans on being a part of the Lady Bear Softball team next year and not in track, needs to be staying on Tuesday and Thursdays in the new gym for quickness/core.  If you are not there, coaches are assuming you are not playing.  Please see Coach Weinhaus or Coach Pitts if any questions.
