Public School Choice

Willow Springs is in the school improvement process according to our Adequate Yearly Progress. Under No Child Left Behind Requirements we are required to offer Public School Choice because of this status.  However, since there are no other5-8 public schools within our school district. Willow Springs R-IV is unable to offer public school choice.

EL Attendance

Last week Mrs. Gossard’s, Mrs. Newberry’s, and Mrs. Hamby’s classes received high attendance with 98%!!!! Way to go.

EL Reading Night

EL Reading NightLights! Camera! Read!

On February 26, the elementary held their annual Reading Night. There were 148 children in attendance, and all children received a free book compliments of elementary teachers.

First National Bank donated and served popcorn and the book fair was open in the library.  Community and school board members donated their time to read various children’s books that were connected to popular movies, such as, Horton Hatches an Egg, Madagascar, How I Became a Pirate, and much more.

Attendance

Education is very important to all of us, and the first step is coming to school regularly. The elementary school strives to maintain 95% attendance. We want to recognize each grade level’s attendance and classes with a 95% attendance rate or higher.
