SCA Track Meet Results

On May 4, 2009 the Willow Springs Bear track team drove north to Salem, Missouri to participate in the south central association track and field championships.  The day was a good day for both the boys and girls teams.

Girls

Competing at a high level Kamyrn Hutsell, Christy Smith, Rachel Lowther, and Quiencie Colley started the day with a first place finish in the 3200 meter relay with a time of 11:06 which is the fastest time of the year for the lady bears.  Kamyrn Hutsell then came right back and ran the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 19.40 to take a 5th place finish.  Quiencie Colley ran the 1600 meter run and took the gold metal with a time of 6:06 which was her fastest time of the year.  Kamyrn then again took the track and ran a 52.06 for a 2nd place finish and ran the fastest time of the year in that event.  Christy Smith and Quiencie Colley took the track in the 800 meter run and took the silver and bronze metals .  Quiencie Colley and Kelsie Hutsell took 1st and 2nd place and raced for the finish line to score 18 points for the lady bears.   The field events supported the lady bears as well with Jessica Girdler taking 2nd place in the shot put with a 30’3” throw and both Jessica Girdler and Lindsey James both scored in the discus with Jessica getting first with a throw of 105’10 ½ inches and Lindsey James with a throw of 82’ 3”. 

Boys

The boys scored 15 more points than a year ago, the boys started out with a 6th place finish with a time of 11:05 and the boys competing were Kyle Roberts, Talon Davis, Kevin Krolic, Tyler Barton.  The 800 meter relay competed and got 5th place with a time of 1:43:69 and Dustin Bonar, Talon Davis, Dane Friga, and Donald Kight were the individuals competing.  Wayne Hober came over the line in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:07 and earned one point with a 6th place finish.   Donald Kight ran the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.23 and earned 6th place.  The team of Dustin Bonar, Talon Davis, Dane Friga, and Donald Kight earned 5th place in the 1600 meter relay with the best time of the season of 3:56.  Joe Chilton threw his personal best of the season with a throw of 81’3” in the discus.  Donald Kight jumped 5’6” and earned 2nd place in the high jump
