Elks Lodge #2418 has selected Nathaniel Mersch, son of Ronald and Suzzanne Mersch, as teenager of the month for September.
Nathan has been involved in various activities throughout high school since his freshman year. Prior to that, Nathan was homeschooled and attended First Assembly of God Christian School. When he entered WSHS, he was on the basketball team for two years and the track team for one. He has also been a member of the Spanish Society for two years and is writing for The Educator staff for his second year.
Along with clubs and activities, Nathan has also received many honors and awards. He has been on the honor roll for three consecutive years and received the Industrial Technology award for the 2002-2003 school year. Nathan also had the opportunity to attend a full session of Missouri Boys State in the summer of 2005, where they run a “mock” government. Nathan was in the “House of Representatives,” where he voted with party lines. In order to be elected for boys state you must be nominated by teachers.
Outside of school Nathan enjoys video games and watching movies. In the summer, Nathan spends time at Jacksfork River and water skis at Table Rock Lake. He is employed part-time at First National Bank in Willow Springs where he works as a teller. After graduation he plans to attend MSU in West Plains and continue his job.
The Educator staff and willowspringsschool.com wish Nathan only the best of luck in the future!
